Barry and Jacquie Hinves present a £500 cheque raised through the Bexhill Horse & Dog Show to representatives of Hastings RNLI.

The cheque was presented to the Lifeboat Management Group Chair, Paul Freathy, by long-time supporters Barry and Jacquie Hinves on behalf of the show, which has supported a number of local charities and community organisations over the years.

The Bexhill Horse and Dog Show is a long-established community event, dating back to 1903 and believed to be one of the oldest town horse shows in the UK. Held annually at the Polegrove in Bexhill, the family-friendly event features horse showing and showjumping competitions, displays, trade stalls and attractions for visitors of all ages.

Volunteer Paul Freathy accepted the cheque from Barry and Jacquie Hinves at a fundraising garden party organised by the Royal Sovereign Light Lodge of Freemasons.

Paul said: "We are immensely grateful for their continued support of the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea. Donations such as this help our volunteer crews continue to provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the coast and support vital water safety education in our community."

As an independent charity, the RNLI relies on voluntary donations and the generosity of supporters to help save lives at sea.
