The community come out to support Happisburgh volunteers
On bank Holiday Monday 25 May 2026, 150 people young and old came out to run or walk the annual Happisburgh 5K Run around Happisburgh to raise money.
This year Happisburgh RNLI were the charity that was chosen; fourteen of the station's volunteers joined in the fun, two of the crew came 6 and 7 in the races. Others just walked,
All the volunteers would like to say a massive 'thank you' to all who took part and helped raise the fantastic sum of £817 which will go to help saving lives at sea - also supporting the Water Safety Team going into schools and events giving water safety advice.
On Sunday 7 June the organisers, Steven Back and Sonya Powley came to the station to hand over the cheque to the crew and volunteers at Happisburgh.
Rachael Kirkham, the Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: ‘We are so grateful to all those who took part in the 5K, supporting our station. Steven and Sonya enjoyed their tour of the station and chatting to all the volunteers.’
