On arrival, the volunteer crew found members of Keyhaven Yacht Club already on scene, providing invaluable assistance and support to the casualty. Their swift actions helped ensure the sailor’s welfare while the situation was assessed.

The dinghy was found safely anchored, and after a thorough assessment the sailor was transferred to the lifeboat and brought ashore as a precaution. The casualty was then handed into the care of HM Coastguard.

The RNLI crew remained on scene to ensure the dinghy was secure before returning to station, where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service.
