Hastings RNLI Lifeboat Station gets new manager
Hastings RNLI lifeboat station has a new lifeboat operations manager (‘LOM’), Jo Mayne. The LOM, a voluntary role, is responsible for the day to day management of the lifeboat station, ensuring that its crews are available 24/7/365 to save lives at sea.
Jo has lived in Hastings for 14 years, and until her appointment as LOM was a launch authority at the lifeboat station, part of a team responsible for liaising with HM Coastguard whenever a lifeboat is needed in the area.
Jo said :- “I am really delighted to have been appointed as lifeboat operations manager at Hastings RNLI lifeboat station. We have a great crew here at Hastings, all prepared to drop whatever they are doing when the pager sounds to save lives at sea. With a number of new recruits having just started, and a new lifeboat expected here late next year, this is a really exciting time for the station, and I am really looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.”
