Troon RNLI lifeboat crew called out to vessel at Seamill

At 12.54pm on Wednesday 29 July 2026 Belfast Coastguard paged the lifeboat crew after reports of a 21ft vessel in difficulty near to Seamill.

With the RNLI volunteers assembling at the lifeboat station, Belfast Coastguard also tasked the Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team to monitor the vessel from the shore.

The Shannon class all-weather lifeboat RNLB Roy Barker VI was soon launched and making best speed towards the vessel.

On arrival, the situation was assessed and assistance was provided to the lifeboat crew by another vessel Leannan who assisted transporting a crew member over to the casualty vessel.

After consultation with the person onboard, a tow was then established to Clyde Marina.

Once at the marina, the vessel was safely berthed with the assistance of the Coastguard Team and the lifeboat was able to return back to Troon where it was made 'ready for service' with the assistance of the shore crew.
