Hastings RNLI station looking for help to raise funds to save lives at sea

Hastings RNLI lifeboat station is looking for volunteers for a number of roles to help publicise its work and raise funds to save lives at sea.

Opportunities include visits officer, leading the team of volunteers at the station explaining how the lifeboats operate; box collector, collecting donations boxes from shops and pubs, etc., in the area; events organiser, planning and organising fundraising events in the area; and fundraising volunteers, helping at the various fundraising events organised by the RNLI locally.

Paul Freathy, Hastings Lifeboat Management Group’s volunteer chair, said :- “Our shore and boat crew do a tremendous job, saving lives at sea. But they rely on another great team of volunteers to raise the money to buy the vital lifesaving equipment they need.
“We are now recruiting for these really important roles. As well as helping save lives at sea, our volunteers learn new skills and gain experience which can help build their CV; get the satisfaction of giving back to the community in a really worthwhile way; and have fun, meeting new people and joining a motivated and enthusiastic team who are really making a difference.

“Please do think about applying, people’s lives could literally depend on it.”
