Abersoch RNLI tasked to assist dinghy sailor in difficulty.
The volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard at 5.59pm on Monday 20th July 2026 following reports of a dinghy sailor in difficulty off Abersoch beach.
As the crew assembled at the boathouse the Coastguard confirmed that the casualty had been assisted by a jet ski owner and had returned to the shore. The launch was cancelled by the Coastguard.
A spokesperson for Abersoch RNLI said, ‘The call was made with good intent and we would always advise that if you get into difficulty or spot someone else in trouble dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard’. They added, ‘Always carry a means of calling for help whenever you head out onto the water’.
