Abersoch RNLI called out to upturned dinghy.
The volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard at 2.14pm on Saturday 18th July 2026 following a report of an upturned dinghy and two people in the water at St Tudwal’s sound.
The Atlantic 85 relief inshore lifeboat was launched at 2.25pm in a slight see state with good visibility and a moderate northerly breeze. En route to the scene the crew received further communication from the Coastguard confirming that the casualty vessel, a Topper dinghy, and both casualties were now safely ashore at Machroes beach.
The lifeboat headed into the beach where the volunteer crew checked on the casualties, who were both equipped with lifejackets. They were found to be fit and well.
The lifeboat left the casualties at 2.47pm and returned to the lifeboat station where the lifeboat was washed down, refuelled and left ready for service at 3.20pm.
