Six paddle boarders in one shout for Flamborough RNLI
HM Coastguard requested the launch of Flamborough RNLI lifeboat Forever Yibba (B-959) at 12:07pm following reports of paddle boarders in difficulty.
Volunteer helm Karl Price said: 'Our new RNLI lifeboat Forever Yibba (B-959) handled the conditions extremely well, allowing the crew to respond quickly and effectively. The first casualties were recovered swiftly and returned to safety to North Landing.
'As soon as the first casualties were safely ashore, two crew members were required to enter the water once again to assist a further two people with paddle boards and a dog who had become cut off by the incoming tide and were unable to re enter the water as the sea was too rough or make their way to safety. The crew were able to safely assist them back to shore, they were then handed into the care of the HM Coastguard Rescue Team.'
