Visitor numbers were boosted by the arrival of the paddle steamer Waverley. Prizes in the raft race were split evenly with Anna and Isla winning the junior race, RNLI crew Matt and Timothy in the adult race, and the wonderfully creative entry by the Farmer family ‘Wee-Verley' winning ‘Best Dressed Raft’.

Volunteer lifeboat crew were on hand to support the event and provide a safety patrol throughout the races, assisted on shore by colleagues from Kames Coastguard and Rescue Service. The local RNLI fundraising team’s tireless efforts raised a total of £3,737 from the tearoom, shop and raffle. On their behalf, Gillian Cowley expressed "a massive thank you to all our volunteers, contributors, crew, Coastguard and the local community and visitors who all came together to make Lifeboat Day such a success."

The support is hugely appreciated, and funds raised are crucial for the charity ensuring RNLI rescue services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to save lives at sea.
