Llandudno RNLI Celebrates Crew Success in All-Weather Lifeboat Assessment
Llandudno RNLI is proud to congratulate volunteer crew members Ralph Hughes and Steve Tustin on successfully completing their Tier 1 pass-out on the All-Weather Lifeboat on Monday 11 January.
The Tier 1 pass-out is a comprehensive evaluation designed to confirm a crew member’s operational readiness on the All-Weather Lifeboat. The assessment was carried out by Coastal Lifeboat Trainer Simon Bunting and tested both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to ensure the crew are fully prepared to operate Llandudno’s larger lifeboat safely and effectively.
During the assessment, Ralph and Steve demonstrated competence across a wide range of essential tasks, including towing, anchoring, lookout duties, casualty location and assistance, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the lifeboat and its systems. They also showed a strong understanding of RNLI policies, emergency procedures, and local operating practices.
Both crew members have already begun working towards the requirements for their Tier 2 pass-out on the All-Weather Lifeboat and are looking forward to continuing their training in the near future.
Llandudno RNLI would like to congratulate Ralph and Steve on this achievement and thank them for their ongoing dedication and commitment to saving lives at sea.
