St Peter Port Lifeboat Station appoints new Lifeboat Operations Manager
The RNLI is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Evans as the new Lifeboat Operations Manager (LOM) at St Peter Port Lifeboat Station. Richard takes on the vital role following the retirement of Jason Hobbs, who served with dedication and commitment.
Richard is no stranger to the station, having been closely involved for many years. He previously held the position of Treasurer, where his financial oversight and support were instrumental in ensuring the station’s smooth operation. His long-standing association with the RNLI reflects his passion for maritime safety and his commitment to the lifesaving work carried out by the charity.
A former civil servant, Richard brings with him a wealth of experience from a distinguished 40-year career in public service. His leadership skills, operational knowledge, and deep understanding of the local community will be invaluable as he steps into this new role. As Lifeboat Operations Manager, Richard will oversee the day-to-day running of the station, ensuring that the lifeboat and volunteer crew are always ready to respond to emergencies at sea.
Richard would like to thank Jason Hobbs for his hard work and commitment, leaving St Peter Port Lifeboat Station in a very good place. The Station faces some interesting times ahead and it’s important that we navigate these issues while ensuring the lifeboats are always ready to go to sea and that crew are fully trained and raring to go.
