Festive Dippers raise record breaking amount
With just over 230 brave dippers taking part the Rhyl RNLI Festive Dip 2025 raised a record breaking amount for the RNLI.
Local fundraising group Belief attended the Rhyl Lifeboat Station recently to donate their sponsorship efforts of £1000 from the event, which was held on Boxing Day.
With this amazing amount the final total raised from the annual Christmas time dip to £3,689.16.
The dip saw brave souls enter the water on a very chilly day with temperatures between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius on the day, with an Easterly wind making it feel even colder.
After the usual fancy dress competition the dippers heading for the sea, with lifeboat crew keeping a close eye on everyone for safety.
Sandra Hughes, Rhyl RNLI Fundraising Chair said “Our annual Festive Dip has become a staple in the local communities calendar over the Christmas period. Our Fundraising Team work closely with the lifeboat crew to ensure the event is as safe and enjoyable as possible for the participants. I’d like to thank everyone who took part for their support, and particularly the Belief Fundraising group, who are always at the event and are incredible with raising so much money each year for our charity”.
