On Sunday, February 15th, the family, friends, and crew of RNLI Moelfre's late Coxswain Alan Owen gathered for a plaque unveiling ceremony in his honour.

The event took place at the RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat Station, where Alan's mother, Helen, unveiled the plaque. This plaque commemorates Alan's life and his 34 years of dedicated service to the RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat and the community. During the ceremony, Coxswain Vince Jones and Launch Authority Ieuan Williams delivered readings. Both Helen and Alan's partner, Mags, express their gratitude to everyone who attended today's service.

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service.
