Volunteering is the backbone of Ramsgate RNLI lifeboat station

Ramsgate lifeboat station is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their crew. This is an exciting opportunity to receive world-class training, learn new skills, meet new friends and Save Lives at Sea. Ramsgate lifeboat crew is a dedicated group of men and women all working together for a common cause and the volunteers are very welcoming to new recruits.

We are looking for team players with good daytime availability, who are physically fit, can follow directions when required to, and can get along with people easily. Our crew members need to be over 18, and under 65 for All-Weather-Lifeboats. The team is dedicated and train weekly to further strengthen their skills and readiness for dealing with all aspects of shouts as they occur. New volunteers are sought to take up these vital roles, for which full training is provided.

Do I need maritime experience to apply? No! Only 1 in 10 lifeboat crew members have professional maritime experience. The RNLI’s world class training programme will provide you with all the skills you need to Save Lives at Sea.

Ian Cannon, ALB Coxswain, said: ‘Our volunteers are the backbone of our operations. We are looking to recruit new volunteer crew members to join us at Ramsgate RNLI. We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, and committed people from the local community with good daytime availability to join our lifesaving team.’

Gary West, Lifeboat Operations Manager, added: ‘We are looking forward to welcoming new volunteers to join us at Ramsgate RNLI. Our charity could not function without the hard work, dedication and time put in by our volunteers. We look forward to hearing from the community.’
