Lymington RNLI responds to medical emergency at Lymington Yacht Haven
Lymington RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crew were paged to a medical emergency at Lymington Yacht Haven on Saturday 7 February at 2.57pm.
A member of the Lymington RNLI crew, who was working at the marina at the time, raised the alarm after identifying the casualty in need of urgent medical assistance. He was able to provide precise directions to the lifeboat and to crew members who made their way directly to the scene at the Yacht Haven.
Once on scene, the lifeboat crew administered casualty care while awaiting the arrival of the ambulance service. The casualty was then handed over to the ambulance crew for further treatment and onward care.
Following the handover, the lifeboat returned to Lymington RNLI station, where the vessel was cleaned, refuelled, and made ready for service again by 5.14pm.
The charity’s volunteer crews remain on call 24 hours a day, ready to respond to emergencies on the water and along the local coastline.
