Dart RNLI boats take part in cliff rescue

Dart RNLI volunteers took part in a cliff rescue after reports of a person in difficulty.

The crews were tasked at 11.23am on Tuesday 25 August after reports of a person in danger approximately 100ft up the cliff near Mill Bay Cove.
The D-Class lifeboat, helmed by Tom Shanley and crewed by Caleb Brown and Callum Hobson, was first on the scene, relieving a kayaker, who was the initial informant. The casualty was inaccessible so the crew stayed to offer support for around 30 minutes, until the Dartmouth Coastguard Rescue team arrived.
The B-Class Atlantic lifeboat, helmed by Andy Pomeroy, and crewed by Tatty Pettigrew, Yorkie Lomas and Mac Auwers, assisted the CRT team in locating the D-Class and the casualty. The boats were stood down once the CRT were satisfied all were safe.
