Hastings welcomes home model of former lifeboat

Hastings RNLI lifeboat station has welcomed 'home' a model of historic lifeboat MTC, which was at Hastings from 1950 to 1963.

The model was given to the lifeboat station by Valerie Cakebread in memory of her late husband Bill, who had been its proud owner, and was presented by Bob Cakebread.

Paul Freathy, chair of Hastings RNLI Lifeboat Management Group, said, 'I was honoured to receive the model from Bob on behalf of Hastings RNLI lifeboat station.

'Valerie and Bob were delighted that the lifeboat model could come "home" to Hastings RNLI.

'It is a real pleasure to add the model to our collection and we will be proud to display it publicly in our popular RNLI shop.'
