Greg Stokes, Andria Donnison and Sophie Wiles have all successfully completed their navigator assessments, qualifying them to navigate the station’s lifeboat, Forever Yibba (B-959).

Becoming a navigator takes a huge amount of time, commitment and dedication. The three volunteer crew members have put in countless hours of training to learn and develop the skills and knowledge required to safely navigate the lifeboat in all conditions.

A special thank you to RNLI training assessor Anna Heslop, who has attended Flamborough RNLI on several occasions to support the crew and help them prepare for and complete their navigator assessments.

Greg Stokes said: ‘Passing out as a navigator is a very proud moment for me. There has been a lot to learn and many hours of training, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing volunteer crew. I’m looking forward to putting the skills I’ve learned into practice and continuing to develop as part of the team.’

Andria Donnison said: ‘Thank you to all the volunteer crew at Flamborough RNLI for helping with all the hours of training. Their support and encouragement has been fantastic throughout the whole process.’

Sophie Wiles said: ‘It’s been a long road with many hours spent learning and practising, but it’s been incredibly rewarding to finally pass the assessment. I’m really grateful to everyone at Flamborough RNLI who has helped and supported me along the way.’

Everyone at the station would like to congratulate Greg, Andria and Sophie on this fantastic achievement and thank them for the dedication, commitment and many hours they have put into their training.
