Poole lifeboat on scene with the burning vessel
The fire service were on scene at Lake Pier but due to the location being approximately 80 metres offshore, they were unable to see if anybody was in difficulty.

Poole lifeboat was promptly on scene and located the vessel fully ablaze.

A hasty search was carried out of the local area and moored vessels for any people in difficulty. A person on a yacht moored nearby confirmed he’d seen nobody onboard.

Local coastguard units also arrived and conducted a shore line search.

The lifeboat then stood off a safe distance to act as safety cover and to monitor the situation.

At approximately 03:00am, the vessel sank and the lifeboat and other units stood down.

The lifeboat was refuelled and ready for service by 03:50.

This was launch 87 this year for Poole volunteers.
