On Saturday 15th whilst on an exercise B-Class lifeboat Lewisco was diverted at 4.55pm to a report of a Wanderer sailing dinghy in difficulties having capsized and taken on water off Whitstable.

The Whitstable Yacht Club safety boat had been with the craft but had been unable to right the craft.

The lifeboat crew used a salvage pump to remove sufficient water from the yacht to allow it to be stabilized and re-float before taking it and its two occupants alongside the lifeboat for the tow back to the yacht club.

On Monday the lifeboat was launched at 5.14pm to a report of a male possibly in difficulties in the water near East Cliffe Terrace, Herne Bay. However on arrival it was reported that the casualty was safely ashore and had left the scene.

There have now been 45-calls so far this year for the volunteers at Whitstable RNLI
