‘Fun and Strum’ event raises funds for RNLI
The Catsfield Ukulele Group held a ‘Fun and Strum’ event in the village hall on Monday (17 August), raising £356 for the RNLI.
Volunteers from Hastings lifeboat station attended, with Annette Veness talking to the group about the work of the RNLI.
The ukulele group played and sang old favourites on the theme of sea, water, and rock, including Drunken Sailor and Ferry Cross The Mersey.
Bob Morrison, local fundraising chair for the RNLI, said, ’It was a lovely evening, with the hall full of ukulele players and great music! We were very grateful to the group for the amazing amount raised, £356, which will help the RNLI save lives at sea.’
Ian Roberts, from the Catsfield Ukulele group, added, ‘We were delighted to be able to learn more about the RNLI, and help raise funds. The RNLI does tremendous work…and to think they are volunteers! Keep up the great work!’
