A very proud dad moment at Flamborough RNLI

Lifeboats News Release

There was a special photo opportunity recently for one of Flamborough RNLI's helms, Karl Price. He posed alongside his twin son and daughter, Brooke and Blake, celebrating the fact that they are both proudly following in the family tradition of helping to keep people safe at sea.

Brooke is currently enjoying her second season as an RNLI lifeguard, while Blake is in his first season. Together, they are part of a team that cover the East Coast from Bridlington down to Hornsea and Withernsea, helping keep the beaches and coastline safe.

The next chapter is already beginning for both of them. Brooke is heading away to train as a ski instructor, with hopes of joining the crew at Flamborough RNLI in the near future. Blake is also heading away to study at university in Lincoln.

But who knows what the future might hold? Perhaps one day all three will be serving together aboard a Flamborough lifeboat. Dad Karl at the helm, with Brooke and Blake alongside him.

Karl Price, Flamborough RNLI Helm said: 'As a Dad, I couldn’t be prouder. To see Brooke and Blake both following in the family tradition and giving their time to help keep people safe at sea is something very special. They’re both going off to start the next chapters of their lives, but hopefully one day we’ll all be together on the lifeboat. That would be a very special day indeed.’

The station wishes 'good luck' to Brooke and Blake in their respective courses.

A wonderful family tradition of volunteering, dedication and saving lives at sea, continuing into the next generation.
