Hastings RNLI receives vital support from Rotary Club Senlac
Volunteer crew at RNLI Hastings have received a £1,000 donation from the Rotary Club Senlac, continuing a long-standing partnership supporting lifesaving work along the Sussex coast.
Founded in 1963, the Rotary Club Senlac St Leonards has supported the RNLI for over 30 years. The club raises funds through its annual cycling event, which also benefits St Michael's Hospice and other local charities.
It was a pleasure for Hastings RNLI volunteers to welcome Rotary Club members to the lifeboat station, including President Terry Mahindrakar, Vice President Colin Goldsack, and fellow members and supporters, to receive the cheque.
The £1,000 donation was raised through last year’s cycling event, as the club prepares for its next annual ride taking place on 26 April 2026.
Bob Morrison, Head of Fundraising at Hastings RNLI, said:
“We are extremely grateful for the continued support of the Rotary Club Senlac. Donations like this make a real difference and help fund the vital work of the RNLI in saving lives at sea.”
During the visit, guests were welcomed by the station’s shop volunteers before being given a tour of the boathouse and the Shannon class all-weather lifeboat 13-28. The station’s Coxswain and Mechanic also joined the group for a photograph to show their appreciation.
