Lifeboats News Release

Exmouth RNLI are set to host one of their flagship fundraising events on Sunday 26 April 2026 when their annual Boat Jumble event returns to the lifeboat station. The event, which has been running for over twenty years, will take place at the charity’s boathouse on Queen’s Drive.

The Boat Jumble, which starts at 9am and finishes at 12 noon, is a firm favourite on the fundraising calendar and brings together nautical and water sports enthusiasts alongside Exmouth RNLI’s loyal lifeboat following. Featuring a sale of nautical and water sports equipment, visitors can expect to find a wide variety of second-hand equipment whilst enjoying a bacon roll for breakfast as they rummage. All funds raised will support the volunteers of Exmouth RNLI to continue saving lives at sea.

This year, the long-running fundraising event sets the scene for another marathon effort. Anne Arnett, a member of the visits team at Teignmouth RNLI, is running the “London Marathon My Way” - setting off from the boathouse at Exmouth RNLI and completing her 26.2 miles at her home station in Teignmouth.

The volunteers of Exmouth RNLI frequently work alongside their colleagues at RNLI Teignmouth, one of their flanking stations. On 26th April, they will provide a countdown to the start of Anne’s marathon and two crew members to run the first couple of miles to the start of the Exe trail alongside her.

Exmouth RNLI Coxswain and event organiser, Roger Jackson, says, “The boat jumble has been running for many years and is always greatly enjoyed by the crew. I'm always amazed at the wide range of gear that stallholders have to sell and, if you spend time in or on the water, there is always something to interest you. It takes a big effort by the crew to get things organised on the day, but it raises valuable funds for the RNLI, so it is always worth it. And to be able to give Anne a send-off on her marathon this year .... well, it will be our pleasure!”
