A busy book fair

Despite the wet weather over the Easter weekend, the event drew strong crowds, with the distillery car park full throughout. Orsay Seasalt attracted lengthy queues, while inside, visitors browsed the well-organised and varied collection of books, with something for everyone. The Lagavulin Malt Mill Bar was busy, and many visiting distillery guests were pleasantly surprised to discover the fair and join in.

The event was well attended across both days raising an impressive total of £2,715.56, far exceeding expectations, and providing vital support for the RNLI charity to continue saving lives at sea.

Islay RNLI fundraisers extend a special thanks to Lagavulin Distillery for hosting, its staff for their support, and Orsay Seasalt for joining during their opening weekend. Thanks also go to Bruichladdich Distillery warehouse team, Stan, David and Mundells hauliers for their help with transport and logistics, and to the communities of Islay and Jura for their generous book donations.

Finally, heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and supported the event, A huge thank you to Islay’s very own fundraising crew, who are always smiling, well-organised and ceaselessly willing.
