The St Bees RNLI 'Find the Fleet' Easter Trail saw a fantastic turnout from the local community, with families braving the wind and rain to support the RNLI. Over £560 was raised, with all proceeds going directly to the RNLI to help save lives at sea.

Children explored the St Bees foreshore, hunting for eight lifeboats that make up the RNLI’s rescue fleet. As participants navigated the course, they discovered educational posters at each stop featuring 'top facts' about the different classes of lifeboats used by the RNLI. Every child was issued an orienteering-style punch card, which they stamped at each station to track their progress through the fleet.

Upon successfully completing the trail and 'finding the fleet', every child returned to the lifeboat station to be awarded a well-earned Easter egg.

In addition to the treasure hunt, visitors enjoyed a variety of refreshments, home-baked cakes, an RNLI shop and a popular second-hand book stall at the station.

St Bees RNLI would like to thank all those that came down and supported the event as well as these businesses who donated Easter eggs; Morrisons Whitehaven, Tesco Whitehaven and Co-op Egremont.

Hannah Drinkall, part of the St Bees RNLI Fundraising Team said:

'We were really pleased with the turnout for today’s Easter Trail. We had lots of positive feedback; the trail was both fun and educational. We plan on making this a yearly event in our fundraising calendar, to raise vital funds for the RNLI to save lives at sea.'
