Chiswick RNLI crew watch Brentford FC beat Premier League champions
Premier League champions Liverpool were beaten 3-2 in a thrilling game last weekend. The club donated ten tickets for RNLI crew members to watch the match.
Chiswick RNLI has been a charity partner with Brentford FC for several years. Collections at match days and stalls at Christmas events have raised significant funds. Three years ago Brentford moved to the Gtech stadium, only a few hundred metres from the Thames. Crew patrolling on match days can hear the roar from Brentford supporters when their team scores.
Chiswick RNLI lifeboat station is the second busiest in the UK and Ireland. Since The RNLI search and rescue service on the Thames started in 2002, Chiswick Lifeboat crews have attended over 5,000 incidents and saved over 200 lives. The RNLI is entirely funded by public donations.
