Fundraising Success at RNLI Coffee Morning
Kippford RNLI fundraisers held their annual coffee morning on Saturday 25 October and were delighted to raise over £1900.
Billed as the Christmas Coffee Morning due to the array of cards and gifts available for purchase this annual event is always a busy one in the fundraising calendar. Across donations at the door, the cake stall, merchandise stand and raffle just over £1900 was raised.
As well as the range of RNLI merchandise on sale visitors were able to make a purchase from the cake stall whilst enjoying a cuppa. There was also a raffle with plenty of great prizes to be won.
Fundraising chair, Cheryl McLellan, said: “There is a lot of work behind the scenes to run the coffee morning but it’s worth it to see so many people attending and contributing to the RNLI cause. I’d like to thank all of the volunteers who help put this event together and everyone who donated a raffle prize.”
As the charity that saves lives at sea the RNLI relies on donations from the public to continue operating. Our volunteer crew are on call twenty four hours a day but they couldn’t do it without the support of the fundraising committee and the people who come along to support our events.
Lifeboat Operations Manager, Gareth Jones, said: “To raise over £1000 at the coffee morning is a great boost to our funds. It costs around £2000 to provide one crew member at Kippford RNLI with full protective kit so events like these are vital to allow us to continue to provide a life saving service. Everyone at Kippford RNLI is grateful to the fundraisers and we look forward to another successful event next year.”
