Stuart Mitchell visits Portree RNLI

Stuart Mitchell, who is underway with his debut national tour Tips Not Included, has received over 100 million views online and is performing at LAS Theatre in Portree tonight (23 October) as part of the tour.

Stuart visited the lifeboat station in Portree earlier this afternoon to meet some of the crew and fundraisers to help promote the work of the lifesaving charity.

Speaking during his visit, Stuart said:

‘The RNLI is a very worthwhile cause and it’s important to get behind it. The organisation relies on volunteers as its lifeblood with a lot of local community support, which is evident to see. I hope that many people continue to support the RNLI charity with donations.’

David Beaton, of the Skye & Raasay Lifeboat Fundraisers, said:

‘It was very generous of Stuart to come down to the Portree RNLI lifeboat station and to take time out of his tour to help us with some promotional work for the RNLI. As a charity, we rely on donations and support from the public to be able to provide the lifesaving service that our volunteers do.’

The RNLI is the charity that has been saving lives at sea for over two hundred years.

There are over 5,700 volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew members at 238 lifeboat stations around the UK and Ireland, with a further 4,000 volunteer shore crew members. Our volunteers are on call and ready to respond to calls for help 24 hrs a day, 365 days of the year.
