With Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924 also tasked, the crew headed to the location and arrived on scene at 5.46 pm. A Helicopter 924 crew member was winched down to the yacht to assess the situation, and once Padstow lifeboat was on scene, the helicopter departed.

After assessing the situation further, the safest course of action was to take the yacht under tow. The yacht was towed to Padstow lifeboat station due to tidal restrictions. Once the tide had risen enough, the yacht was then towed safely into Padstow Harbour.

Padstow RNLI crew returned to the station and were refueled and ready for service by 6.15 am the following morning.
