The special annual service for Seafarers was first held in 1905. Now, 120 years later, the service and congregation continue to reflect the full range of the maritime activities of the nation and it reminds us of their importance.

Great Yarmouth and Gorleston RNLI's representatives were:
Lifeboat Operations Manager Cpt. Lindsey Wigmore, Coxswain Andy Mason, 2nd Coxswain Jason Edmonds, Helm John Mclellan and Helm Dave Kilpatrick.

Also in attendance was HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal along with representatives from the Royal and Merchant Navies, the commercial world, shipping companies, mission and philanthropic societies, schools and museums, veterans’ associations, labour unions, youth and leisure organisations and it was also open to members of the public.

Coxswain Andy Mason said: ‘It was a great honour to be selected to represent the RNLI and carry the RNLI standard. What an amazing service for the seafarers and an incredible building to be held in.’
