Quiz raises £1650 at Whitstable Lifeboat Station
There were a lot of quizzical looks around the venue for Whitstable RNLI’s ‘Big Quiz’ on Saturday evening and the event has raised £1650 for lifeboat funds.
Attended by 106 people who made up 22 teams the event was the 4th quiz to be held by the station in the South Quay Shed on Whitstable harbour.
Chair of Fundraising Pete Fenton said "Thanks to everyone who supported the quiz and Question Master John Baker certainly posed some difficult questions and, as an example, only one person correctly got the reference to the film ‘The Hunt for the Red October' and Tim's Team were triumphant by the end of the quiz”.
“Certainly an enjoyable evening was had by all and many thanks to the various local businesses who generously donated raffle prizes and to Naomi at the South Quay Shed who allowed us the use of the venue free of charge and Whitstable lifeboat volunteers who assisted during the evening".
