Excellence in Volunteering Award presented to Falmouth RNLI Visits Team
The framed award was presented to Lifeboat Visits Officer Andrew Mumford and members of the Visits Team by Adrian Carey, RNLI Head of South West Region, at Falmouth Lifeboat Station recently.
The Award was made to the team in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the RNLI. Over the last year, the team showed utmost professionalism and commitment to station visits during the transition from the Severn class to the Shannon class all-weather lifeboats. Their hard work resulted in increased visitor engagement and donations and more public awareness of water safety.
On presenting the award, Adrian Carey said: ‘It’s a genuine pleasure to present the RNLI Excellence in Volunteering Award to the Falmouth Visits Team. The award recognises your tireless dedication to promoting the station and connecting to our community and, by extension, the wider RNLI.
‘Furthermore, your sustained hard work ensured that in months like August you welcomed over 600 casual and group visitors to the station. To date, in 2025, you have welcomed over 2,200 visitors and a glance through Tripadvisor and the station visitors book indicate that they had a superb time with your team.’
Falmouth RNLI Visits Officer Andrew Mumford thanked Adrian for the award and said: ‘It’s great that the team’s hard work has been recognised in this way and thanked the team for their support and dedication in providing an excellent positive experience for visitors to the station.
‘Anyone interested in visiting the lifeboat station and viewing the boats, or thinking they might like to join the Visits Team, can contact me by email on [email protected] for further information.’
