Replacing outgoing LOM, Mike Attwell who saw a change in family circumstances and relocated to Devon, Graham is no stranger to the RNLI having been a Governor Member for over fifty years.

With a distinguished thirty-year career in the Fire Service, that included commanding several stations in the local area and heading up the fire safety department responsible for legal enforcement across Southampton, Eastleigh and the New Forest.

During his career Graham attended several fires at sea, including Canberra, HM Warships and an explosion on the oil tanker Mobil Petrel close to the Fawley Refinery.

In his spare time, Graham is also a keen sailor and Community First Responder for the ambulance service.

On his appointment Graham said: ‘I am pleased to have the privilege of serving the seagoing community of The Solent area, as the new Lifeboat Operations Manager at Calshot Lifeboat Station.

Having joined Calshot as a Launch Authority a short time after my predecessor Mike Atwell, the opportunity to take over from him and to continue the good work he had started came as something of a surprise yet also an opportunity not to be missed!

I have inherited an excellent crew and a fantastic location and hope to help build on the proud reputation of the station.’
