
Lymington RNLI 60 Anniversary
During this period, Lymington RNLI has operated six lifeboats, including the current Atlantic 85 B class lifeboat David Bradley and has launched on service 1,540 times and saved 235 lives.
- In 1965 an Inshore lifeboat station was established with a D class lifeboat.
- In 1973 the D class lifeboat was withdrawn and replaced by an Atlantic 21, B-519 Surrey Forester.
- In 1978 a purpose build boathouse was constructed.
- In 1986 a new lifeboat Atlantic 21, B-566 supported by Frank and Mary Atkinson.
- In 1991 a first floor extension to the boathouse was recently completed to provide improved crew facilities and a souvenir sales outlet.
- In 2002 the new station Atlantic 75 class lifeboat B-784 Victor “Danny” Lovelock was placed on service. This lifeboat was funded by Mrs Iris Lovelock.
- In 2006 New inshore lifeboathouse completed on 6 July.
- In 2015 the stations lifeboat was replaced with a new Atlantic 85 class B-882 David Bradley

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,700 lives.
