Lee Quinney’s Elton John Tribute Act raises over £2.300 for Looe RNLI
A recent Elton John “Rocketman” fundraising evening, with a raffle and auction, organised by Looe RNLI’s fundraising branch raises over £2,300 for RNLI Looe Lifeboat Station
Last Saturday evening, 15 March 2025, over 140 Elton John fans joined members of Looe RNLI’s fundraising team for a “Rocketman” Tribute evening. Entertained by Lee Quinney and his backing group many were on their feet dancing and singing the night away. Shirley Adams one of the evening’s organisers says “Lee Quinney / Elton John aka Rocketman was electric, the whole room was singing and dancing the night away, the audience wanted more he was so good! I’m sure in time we will ask him back, Lee is a supporter of the RNLI and promoted us throughout the evening.
Lee and his band have never played in Looe and were overjoyed by the response. They were all delighted to learn the evenings concert, raffle and auction raised over £2,300 for Looe Lifeboat Station
The event was held at the Hannafore Point Hotel who were very generous in providing the venue for free, together with one of the raffle prizes. Shirley goes on to thank Phil, David, and the staff at the Hotel, for looking after us extremely well, saying “nothing was too much trouble, their support was gratefully received. Shirley and our fundraising team would also like to thank everyone who supported the event by purchasing a ticket, making auction bids and / or buying raffle tickets. She would also like to thank everyone who kindly donated the auction and raffle prizes which contributed to the amazing amount raised, which will be used to support our RNLI volunteer crews Saving Lives at Sea.
