
Thirty years RNLI long services medals presented at Berwick-upon-Tweed
At Berwick-upon-Tweed RNLI lifeboat station, long service medals were presented to two volunteers at the weekly Wednesday crew training night.
Alex Robertson has served as Shore Crew, Deputy Head Launcher, Head Launcher and finally as Deputy Launch Authority before standing down as a volunteer with 30 years' dedicated service.
Gordon Blackett has served as Shore Crew, Lifeboat Operations Manager, Deputy Launch Authority and continues to serve as Boathouse Manager and is part of the RNLI Fundraising Team. Gordon also has over 30 years' service.
RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Kevin Knox said: ‘Having served with both of these crew for the last 30 years it was my pleasure to present them both with their 30 year long service medals on station at our crew meeting. Between them both that’s a lot of voluntary time at saving lives at sea.’
