Golf Club donate over £6,900 to the RNLI
Brighton and Hove Golf Club raised £6,902.00 for the RNLI by holding a number of events throughout the year.
In total, the golf club raised £3,451. David matched the donation, bringing the grand total to an impressive £6,902.
On 28 January 2025, David and Michael from the club visited Newhaven Lifeboat Station to present the donation. They were welcomed by Roger Cohen MBE, Newhaven’s Lifeboat Operations Manager, and Reg Dove, an RNLI Community Presenter who had previously visited the club earlier in the year. During the visit, David and Michael were given insight into how their donation would help the RNLI continue its lifesaving work at sea, as well as fund vital equipment.
Roger Cohen MBE, Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: 'On behalf of the RNLI, we would like to thank the members of Brighton and Hove Golf Club for donating to the RNLI. Support from local communities motivates our lifeboat crew and other volunteers to continue their lifesaving work. 100% of money raised will go towards keeping RNLI lifeboat crew ready for the next call for help.’
97% of the RNLI’s frontline lifesavers are volunteers, including 5,700 volunteer lifeboat crew members at stations around the UK and Ireland. Without our incredible volunteer lifesavers, the RNLI could not provide a 24/7 lifesaving service.
