Newly appointed Coxswain of Sennen Cove Lifeboat, Nick Hichens

Nick has been a RNLI volunteer at Sennen Cove for nineteen years.

Over that time, he has qualified as a helm for our 'D' class inshore lifeboat and a mechanic for our all-weather lifeboat.

Nick's hard work and dedication lead to him qualifying as a Coxswain of our Tamar Class all-weather lifeboat City of London III in 2023.

A true Sennen Cover, Nick was raised in the cove with family ties to Sennen Cove lifeboat going back many generations.

Nick has been a fisherman all his working life. His knowledge of local waters is second to none, making him an ideal candidate to safely lead our RNLI volunteers to help save lives on the seas off the south-west coast of Cornwall.

Congratulations Nick on your appointment and thank you for your dedication and hard work to achieve your new role as full time Coxswain.

Nick will be taking up the role around the end of February.
