Speakers confirmed for the evening, which will take place at the Woodlands Centre in Rustington, West Sussex, at 7.00pm, include Nick White, Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, and Mark Tewkesbury, Hastings RNLI coxswain.

Nick White has served as a RNLI volunteer for more than 40 years at both Littlehampton and Weston-super-Mare. Nick will present some of Littlehampton's most memorable shouts, as well as key moments from the lifeboat station’s unique history.

Mark Tewkesbury was aboard Hasting RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat, Richard and Caroline Colton, when it was captured on a now viral video nearly capsizing in heavy seas during a 2020 storm. Mark will recount the shout and reveal what it was like to be on the lifeboat during that heart-stopping moment.

The evening will conclude with a Q&A with current crew members and volunteers from Littlehampton RNLI.

Cian Mathews, Littlehampton RNLI’s Fundraising Chair, said: ‘Saving Lives at Sea: A Live Experience, promises to be an unforgettable evening. Men and women from all walks of life volunteer for the RNLI. But when they come together as RNLI crew, they head out in all weathers to help anyone in danger at sea. To hear their incredibly brave memories will be an honour and a privilege.’

Tickets for this very special evening are £10 per person and include a glass of wine or a soft drink. They can be purchased from the shop at Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Station or by emailing [email protected].
