Silloth RNLI Kings Coronation Presentation

Lifeboats News Release

On Sunday 9 February 2025, lifeboat crew, family and friends joined together to witness 10 crew members being awarded the King's Coronation Medal presented by David Beeby, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Cumbria.

The presentation started off with a speech from John Mcvay, RNLI Area Operations Manager. He introduced himself and explained what his role and responsibilities were. He then went on to talk about Silloth Lifeboat Station and its crew members. John then introduced the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Cumbria who read out each recipient of the medal, stating how many years service they had and explaining what their roles were within the station.

The presentation ended with tea, coffee and a light buffet where the crew and their friends and family could celebrate such a special achievement. Medal recipients were; Steven Henderson, Chris Clark, Mark Ware, Stuart Henderson, Jim Blake, Tom Stalker, Mick Satterthwaite, Kev James, Andrew Rowe and Dr Darren Hymers.
