Dungeness RNLI volunteer receives Excellence in Volunteering Award

The award was signed by RNLI Medical Director, Aroop Mozumder and was presented in front of the crew on their training evening by the Area Operations Manager.

Jason Carroll, Area Operations Manager, says:

‘Vicky is an ambassador for mental health, and it has been at the forefront of her mind when looking after crew and casualties.

As well as her role as Lifeboat Operations Manager, Vicky also volunteers for the RNLI as a Trauma Risk Management Practitioner. This role sees her supporting other lifeboat stations with confidential peer support to those who have been exposed to a potentially traumatic event as part of their RNLI role.

She has taken this role very seriously and has been supporting crews and their families through challenging situations with the utmost care. Well done to Vicky, this award is very well deserved.’
