A busy few days for Angle lifeboat
Angle RNLI assist in 3 hour search for missing person
The lifeboat launched shortly afterwards and was soon on scene and commencing a shoreline search. A strong southerly wind and driving rain made search conditions poor. Due to the circumstances, at this point Coastguard Rescue Helicopter R924 from Newquay joined the search. Following a thorough search, at 10pm all assets were stood down and it was later confirmed that the missing person had been located.
Second launch came 3.53pm on Tuesday 16 December to assist a fishing vessel with fuel issues. The crew were tasked to a 10m fishing vessel with one person onboard suffering from a fuel issue off Llanion, Pembroke Dock. With the vessel close to shore and at risk of drifting into another vessel, the lifeboat was requested to assist.
The lifeboat launched and arrived on scene around 20 minutes later. Following an assessment of the situation, the vessel was placed in an alongside tow and taken the short distance into East Llanion and berthed safely alongside the wall.
With no further assistance required, the crew were stood down and returned to their berth, where the lifeboat was readied for further service by 5.15pm.
