Dartoff Angling Boat Club chairman Mike Felton (3rd from left) hands over the cheque for £7,000 to Dart RNLI acting fundraising chair John Butler. Also outside the new boathouse are RNLI volunteer Will Davis (far left), Dartoff's Robert Dark, Dartoff's Mike Johnson, and RNLI volunteer Caleb Brown
The club recently held a fishing competition to support Dart RNLI and raised an incredible £7,000.
Club chairman Mike handed over a cheque to Dart RNLI acting fundraising committee chair John Butler on Saturday (Dec 6) in front of the new Dart RNLI boat house.
Dart’s B class Atlantic lifeboat was there to open the fishing competition and Mike, part of a family of RNLI supporters, said: ‘It was a brilliant day and always a pleasure to support Dart RNLI. They do a great job and we never know when one of our boats might need their help.'
Dart RNLI's John added: 'We are so grateful to Mike and his club. The support means everything to us and comes at such a critical time as we move into our new station. Every penny raised counts, and helps the charity enormously. The new station will make our rescue work speedier and help us save lives at sea.'
