Leigh and Harriet’s Charity Ball raises over £10,000 for the RNLI
Volunteers from Trearddur Bay RNLI held their charity ball on Saturday 29 November 2025 at the Trearddur Bay Hotel, all in aid of Leigh and Harriet’s RNLI London Marathon fund, which raised an incredible £10,540 to help save lives at sea.
On the evening, we were thrilled to receive incredibly generous donations. A donation of £3,000 was given by Cybi Coastal Marathon from their wonderful annual event. It was lovely to have Andy, Kristian and James join us to present the cheque and we are so grateful for the continued support shown to us and Holyhead Lifeboat Station.
We also had a donation of £1,000 from The North East Fishermen presented to us by Julie Heylings, whose daughter was rescued in 2019. The Heylings family and North East Fishermen have gone on to raise well over £5,000 for the station through local fishing events.
Not only this, but through the generosity of local businesses, we were able to conduct a raffle and action on the evening which raised over £6,000. Speaking about the event, Leigh and Harriet said:
'The evening could not have gone any better. We are completely blown away by the generosity of the organisers of the Cybi Coastal Marathon, the Heylings family, North East Fishermen and the local businesses who provided incredible prizes to us.
'We would also like to thank Richard Tuke from Sandown Properties LTD for his generosity and continued support to the station, and to Stuart Thomas the Magician, Steve Barnard the Photographer and North Wales Sound and Lighting, for giving up their time for free on the evening. We all had a fantastic time and have smashed our fundraising target way beyond our expectations.'
And they’re not done yet! With still over 4 months to go they will keep fundraising.
You can follow their journey and donate here.
