Norman and Sally Daniells 50 years of fundraising

The gravity-defying challenge takes place on Saturday 23 August at 1:00pm at Sywell Airfield, and promises to be the latest in a long line of creative and sometimes quirky fundraising adventures that Norman and his wife Sally have dreamed up over the decades.

Norman and Sally RNLI journey began quite by chance more than 50 years ago, when a family stroll at Marsh Lock led Norman to be roped in to mind a yard sale stall 'just for a minute.' That minute turned into a lifetime commitment to helping the charity that saves lives at sea.

Since then, Norman and Sally have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds through everything from sponsored swims and wellie-throwing competitions to a ‘Poo Stick Championship’ and the legendary ‘Money Mile’ where coins lined a mile long ribbon through Henley in a single day.

Ian Daniells Norman's son, couldn’t be prouder: 'I’m so proud of them both. They’ve dedicated their lives to raising funds for the RNLI and their total is now well into the hundreds of thousands. They’re incredible.'

Norman’s latest challenge is his boldest yet swapping bowls green for biplane wings and he hopes the community will get behind him

Ian Daniells said: 'Please support Norman as he takes to the skies for the RNLI this August. Every contribution helps the charity continue its life-saving work across the UK and Ireland.'

The RNLI extends heartfelt thanks to Norman and Sally for their extraordinary commitment and enthusiasm. Their work has not only raised vital funds, but also inspired countless others to support the cause
