Since joining the station in 2024, Calum has shown incredible commitment to both his training and active duty. Balancing volunteer service with a busy professional life, he manages several local businesses and runs a mobile bar.

The Tier 1 pass-out is a rigorous practical and theoretical assessment that tests a volunteer’s readiness to operate as part of an ILB crew. Coastal trainer Simon Bunting oversaw the session, ensuring Calum met the high standards required for frontline service.

With Tier 1 behind him, Calum will now begin the next phase. Tier 2 training, which brings him one step closer to full operational status on the inshore lifeboat team.
