Volunteers from Pwllheli RNLI and Ffrindiau Pwllheli join forces in litter pick
Volunteers from Pwllheli RNLI and Ffrindiau Pwllheli joined forces on Sunday 29 March, in a community event to collect litter from the town’s Harbwr Bach/Pwll Du.
Volunteers from Pwllheli RNLI’s operational crew and fundraising team participated in a community litter pick, organised by environmental conservation group Ffrindiau Pwllheli in collaboration with Keep Wales Tidy.
The initiative saw dedicated RNLI and community volunteers working together to clear discarded waste from the town’s natural areas at Harbwr Bach/Pwll Du, collecting over 30 sacks of rubbish. Their efforts have contributed to maintaining and preserving the local environment.
Alison Hayes, Chair of Pwllheli RNLI Fundraisers, says: ‘Our RNLI fundraisers and crew were invited to join a litter pick around the Pwllheli nature reserve by Ffindiau Pwllheli. The good turnout filled numerous red bags. We were delighted to take the opportunity to support this welcoming and worthwhile community group.’
Andy Vowell, Pwllheli RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, says: ‘We were very happy to help out with the litter pick in our town, collaborating with the Ffrindiau Pwllheli community group. Turnout by Pwllheli RNLI volunteers on a weekend was excellent.’
