Wesley Foster - System Station Technician / ALB Navigator
Wesley, who is the Senior Station Technician for Plymouth Lifeboat Station joined the Plymouth Lifeboat crew as a volunteer in 2021 and progressed to full time Senior Station Technician (formally Mechanic) in 2022. To achieve his navigator qualification, Wesley demonstrated high standards of skill using charts, radar, AIS, GPS, bouyage, passage planning, search patterns and knowledge of local waters.

Wesley said: ‘It’s a great feeling be a qualified Navigator on our All-Weather Lifeboat after a few months of exercises. This wouldn’t be possible without the support from our volunteer crew and our Coastal Lifeboat Trainer, Lyle Stantiford. I look forward to getting some more time in the seat.’

Lifeboat Operations Manager Chris Westall said “I am extremely proud of Wesley in achieving his navigator pass out, as are all of us at the station. He has worked very hard and put in a lot of practical time in to reach the standards required.”
